Job Definition:


East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales, Inc. is looking for experienced Parts manager for truck & trailer dealership. Must have knowledge and previous experience of purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, display and advertising.


Job Duties:


  • Properly staffing the department, which includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all parts department staff.
  • Maintaining an orderly workplace.
  • Creating and overseeing an annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Working with the service department and wholesale account representatives to ensure inventory is available when needed.
  • Establishing competitive pricing specifications in various categories while generating sufficient profits and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Determining appropriate inventory levels while ensuring periodic parts turnover.
  • Adjusting stock to curtail accumulation of unused or old parts.
  • Confirming that parts are appropriately coded so the dealership can claim a complete refund for unused factory stock.
  • Managing all marketing and sales of parts.
  • Working with marketing department to maintain parts catalog and parts website
  • Handling all warranty parts, RMA’s, and making sure parts are returned and restocked
  • Knowledge of core charges
  • Overseeing and ability to perform shipping and receiving functions
  • Knowledge of overnight freight, ground shipping and palletized freight shipping
  • Reviewing sales figures, costs and stock monthly to ensure budget benchmarks are met.
  • Assisting Marketing/Retail/Show Manager and helping produce retail sales.
  • Working with staff to produce weekly sales ad, marketing material to promote sales

Job Requirements:


Experience in Heavy Duty Truck Parts required. Must have at least three years of supervisory experience and experience in heavy duty truck parts department. Sales experience a plus.


Must have strong communication skills with ability to deal with customers, employees and vendors. Required to maintain the profitability of the department while controlling expenses and maintaining customer satisfaction.


May have to work extended hours, evenings and weekends to achieve goals.


Position can be physically demanding. Certain positions within the parts department require employees to spend most of their workday on their feet and to carry heavy and awkwardly sized items. A reasonable level of physical fitness and flexibility is beneficial as a parts manager may need to fill in areas where personnel is short staffed.


Education Requirements:


Bachelor´s degree preferred and/or automotive technology background.


Experience in a parts & service environment. Some mechanical knowledge with heavy duty diesel trucks and/or automotive manufacturing


Physical Demands:


Working in the automotive industry can be physically demanding. Certain positions require employees to spend most of their workday on their feet and to carry heavy and awkwardly sized items. A reasonable level of physical fitness and flexibility is beneficial.

Tow Equipment Sales Manager

Location: Portsmouth, VA


East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales is currently seeks a Towing and Equipment Sales Manager for the Wrecker and rollback Business and must have knowledge of the heavy & medium duty truck market segment of the market


The successful candidate will be the leader for all towing equipment sales related activities for our dealership.


Additional responsibilities include:

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years Heavy Duty Wrecker sales experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of sales experience or other related work directly connected to the Commercial towing industry.
  • Computer skills including keyboard aptitude word processing, presentation software, spreadsheet and communications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have working knowledge of towing products and market segment variables.
  • Demonstrated customer focus, acting with a high sense of urgency. Able to gather, assimilate, and act on customer requests and represent self in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve customer business issues.
  • Experience dealing and communicating with vendors and OEM's alike.

    Custodian Needed

    Experienced custodian needed for facility in Portsmouth. Responsibilities include sweeping & mopping floors, vacuuming & cleaning carpets, scrubbing & cleaning restroom fixtures, cleaning walls & windows, emptying trash, dusting & polishing wood and other surfaces, changing lightbulbs and other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform bending, reaching, stooping and lift up to 50 lbs and have reliable transportation and valid drivers license. At least 2 years custodial experience preferred. Criminal background check and drug screening required. Shift hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm M-F.
